Alumni Meet - Sangamam 2017

Hallmark Business School, Trichy has successfully hosted Alumni Meet – Sangamam 2017 on 25.2.2017, Saturday. Alumni batches from 2008-10 to 2013-15 were invited. 40 alumni have graced the function with three girls and 37 boys. 9 Alumni have shared their professional experience and guided the students on how to prepare for interview, resume rules, attitude building, role of perseverance and never give up outlook, etc.  Alumni are source of inspiration for the students of any college. They get inspiration from their seniors. HBS has a regular practice of inviting alumni for “Alumni Interaction Session”, which happens once in a month. We have also plan to have mentorship from the alumni of HBS apart from Faculty and Corporate mentorship for the first year students of batch 2016-18.  Alumni have shared their experience at HBS when they were students and they highlighted on the skills and practices that the students of today has to incorporate during MBA for adhering for a prospect full Professional career. b)      Ms. Meera, Finance Executive, PNB Paribas, Chennai was elected as Secretary and
c)      Mr. Sathamussian, Sales Executive, Hedge & Hendge, was  elected as Treasurer

We plan to conduct another meet during May 2017, Second Saturday at Chennai, since most of HBS alumni were working and got employed at Chennai region.

Agenda for HBS – Alumni club – “Sangamam” are as follows
                                                                                          
1.      Networking of students with alumni
2.      Career building for students of HBS through the support of alumni
3.      Internship and project guidance in alumni respective corporate assistance
4.      Usage of HBS students for research and survey on market

  1. To foster and perpetuate friendship and cooperation among the alumni through Publications
  2. Formulate small informal group meetings of alumni
  3. Visits of the members of the faculty and administration of the College to alumni centres
  4. Maintaining an active alumni head quarters on the College campus by the office bearers
  5. Celebrations in alumni meet every year and conduct alumni interaction session once in every month
  6. To assist in the identification and cultivation of prospective students.
  7. To support a relationship between the Alumni Association and current students of HBS through the HBS Alumni Club – Sangamam.

Center For Entrepreneurship Development

Hallmark Business school has associated with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) , Funded By Wadhwani Foundation Bangalore.Today, all the first MBA students were enrolled to a course of LEARNWISE , titled "Orientation Program On Entrepreneurship (WF 100)".The Course Commenced from today and end by 11th of April 2017. This Activity help Students to Learn through Digital Course ware and Equip themselves through Digital Learning Course. By Enrolling to this Program Student were Involved in extra - Curricular Activity on Entrepreneurship Development. Our Institute tries to inspire Entrepreneurial Spirit on every student member in this aspect . we are sure that this act will enrich their profile and improvise chance of corporate absorption . This Program was Organized under HBS-Center for Entrepreneurship Development , Coordinated by BY Prof G.Karthikeyan.




TREKKING

HBS takes many initiatives to instill values and ethics among young management learners who are to become future leaders. Vanavasam is one such initiative by HBS, in which students stay close with nature and learn about environmental ethics which concerns human beings' ethical relationship with the natural environment.
The juniors (2016-18 Batch) are to stay for four days from 3rd to 6th April 2017 in campsite near Berijum lake and will learn about nature, grasslands, Shola forests and importance of preserving nature for the survival of human species. This camp includes trekking, animal watch, stream walks and lecture series by camp Director,Prof. P Kandasamy, Honorary Wildlife Warden, Erode Dt
.

Micro Presentation

"HBS devotes considerable time for micro-presentations by MBA students.  In total a single student makes around 70 presentations relevant to the subjects they learn in MBA.By presenting in the class students receive immediate feedback from peers and faculty, which helps the improve himself / herself in presentations.
                                       

The objective of this activity is to develop communication skill, presentation skill and learning on  concepts relevant to the subjects, which helps them for future professional meetings / conference assignments in work place.

HR CONFERENCE

         
                   The HR conference conducted by Confederation of Indian Industry – CII (held at Sangam Hotel, Trichy on 16th February 2017). It has become a unforgettable day, as the sessions were very impressive.
                   “The role of HR in the Make in India “is the main topic of the conference. The prelaunch session was handled by Mr. Krishna Kumar senior HR manager in Dalmia Cements. HE spoke on “CXO Challenge” .HE stated with very interesting quotes, that was “Perfection has no limits” .And his speech was very provoking and though full. He also discussed about “Retention Rate”.
                   The post lunch session was started with a very interesting quiz program which was conducted to encourage the students and also the participants. The quiz questions were based on legal rights and company laws.
                   The next session was takeover by Mr.Venkatesan on Virtual Talent Management discussed about various challenges that was faced by HR managers while working in a virtual environment and also said some useful Mantras to overcome those challenges.
                   Mrs. Upam, Professor from BIM took the next session and presented a overview on “make in India” and which was followed by Dr.P.Sivakumar, he presented on “HR next – 2025”. That was about the future growth in the field of Human Resource and Mr.Pugalenthi presented “future now” topic which is very important aspect as of now.
                   The last session was carried out by Mr.Varaden on legal rights and laws that a company has to follow. On total the full day was very useful and made us to realise that beyond our book the world of HR was very challenging and very interesting. From the experience of those experts we gained knowledge. Thanks for taking us for that wonderful conference.

Medical Camp

Medical Camp

Place: Iniyanur
                   Hallmark Business School 1st year student has been conducted medical camp on 17.02.2017 in Iniyanur. Thousands of villagers were being part of the camp. We invited those villagers for the camp. It is a different experience for us. The medical camp was very useful for the village people. We organised the camp.

                   Our director Dr.R.Ramesh is one who initiated this program. After attending this program we felt very happy. This program influenced and encouraged as to do further, more social activities in future. Our professor Mr. Praveen Kumar also contributed to this program 

Cultural Program

Cultural program – Hindusthan College of Arts and Science.

         

          We were a group of 10 who participated in Hilaricas, an intercollegiate which was held on the 14th of February at Hindusthan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. Our students participated in various events (Adaptune, Dumb Charades, Kavithai, Vegetable Carving, Mehendi, wealth out of waste, etc...)
         
           Every event was well organized with more than 50 colleges participating in the events. There was healthy competition for us. Though the competition was few, it was very tough. We had a great experience. We participated and cheered our team all through the way very enthusiastically and were proud to represent our college amidst the several colleges from all over Tamil Nadu.
         
           Several Cine celebrities had come as guests to the event. The function went on like an international event. We had a wonderful time there.

Training of Trainers in Life Skills

Training of Trainers in Life Skills FDP conducted by NIT, Trichy
for 5 days (27-02-2017 to 03-03-2017)
The programme started at 9.00 am with an orientation of the Objectives of the Programme and then the sessions started with Education & training of Life Skills, then the session went on with discussions in related topics like Soft Skills & Personality Development, Conflict Resolution & Negotiation  Skills, Coping with Stress Management, Achievement Motivation, Assertiveness and Emotional Resilience, Thinking Skills, Critical Thinking & Social Responsibility, Leadership Communication, Interpersonal Relations and Dynamics, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Personal Effectiveness & Professionalism for Teachers and E-Competence & Life Skills
The sessions went well and the concept of KTD (Knowledge, training & development) was discussed and how it will affect the student community was elaborated. We all understood the competency types, viz. Cognitive competency, intrapersonal competency & interpersonal competency
Hilton Paligrino’s Framework of Life Skills was also discussed, WHO’s Life Skill Sets including decision making, problem solving, creative ideology, interpersonal skills, communication, self awareness, empowerment & coping with stress management were also discussed.
UNESCO’s International Commission on Education for 21st Century has led to Education for knowing, doing things, living together and being clear which are the four pillars of learning.  With respect to soft skills interpretation and planning are called as soft ones whereas implementation and realization are classified as hard ones.
Coming to personality establishment of one’s own identity, aims, goals, anticipated career life style and role in community were considered predominant and physical, mental, emotional values, attitudes, interests and motivational factors would follow them next.
Mechanics and pragmatics of writing were also discussed and attitude towards failures & mistakes, initiatives, leadership, enthusiasm, self discipline, sound physical & mental health, desireness to pleasure & excitement and gravity in one’s knowledge & skills were also briefly explained followed by questions & answers.
Bloom’s taxonomy was taught with cognitive & affective actions. Thinking was given prime importance and all the participants had a well structured lecturing before them. Critical and their importance in the present world was keenly discussed and how this quality would enable us to shape the present day generation was also tactfully taken.

On the whole the entire five day session went enriching our thought provoking behaviour and performances. We all gained from the programme extremely.
